Biography

Joong-Lyul Lee, Ph.D. is an associate professor in the department of mathematics and computer science at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. He received M.S. degree in computer science from Illinois Institute of Technology, Ph.D. degree in telecommunication engineering from the University of Texas at Dallas, U.S.A in 2009, 2015 respectively. During Ph.D. degree and M.S. degrees, his research projects was with regard to network performance evaluation on existing co-channel interference and efficient algorithms on wireless ad hoc networks and social networks.

His research interests lie in the area of algorithm design and computer networks with emphasis on topology construction, data gathering, barrier coverage, IPv4-IPv6 translation, and network performance on wireless networks, wireless sensor networks and vehicular ad hoc networks. And recently, his research interests have extended to cyber security and social networks in computer networks. He published several conference papers and journals in these topics.

He teaches several courses in Introduction to Computer and Network Security, Database Management Systems and Security, Network Management, Operating Systems, Networking and Security, Introduction to Programming-C, C++, Java Programming, Object Oriented Programming, Introduction to Programming, Introduction to Algorithms and WWW information.
